E-Reps: How it Started……

What a journey❗


It's only when you see things written down that you can appreciate the journey we have been on since the first BEST course was delivered in 2011.

This was directly in response to industry concerns about the level of environmental awareness and workforce engagement on environmental issues following the Deep Water Horizon disaster in 2010.

If you were around before the early 2000's, you'd remember that the environment didn't feature too highly on anyone's agenda and in a lot of cases, it was a necessary evil. Any training offered on this was a tick box exercise with little expectation that behaviours would be changed and sustainable improvements would be made.

Now here we are in 2024 and the outlook is completely changed! Businesses aren't just supporting environmental management, they are embracing it-the inclusion of sustainable practices is essential to maintain a sustainable business.

If everyone of the BEST delegates takes only one thing away from their training, that's over 1100 small changes made in the industry, when we factor in the ripple effect 'initial disturbance to a system propagates outward to disturb an increasingly larger portion of the system', the possibilities are endless!

We can't rest on our laurels or take our eyes off the ball. This is an everchanging landscape which need constant, attention, evolution and acknowledgement of changing stakeholder needs, concerns and expectations.
