Cross Industry E-Reps

Since 2016, I have been working across a range of high hazard industry sectors and it is always interesting to compare and contrast their approach to environmental and safety management.

Given the challenges we have communicating internally, it is never any surprise that different industries within the sector, have limited exposure or knowledge of what is going outside of their operations.

This is such an opportunity missed but one I hope to put right.

First up, I have a call this week with one of the busiest ports in the UK to talk about how they can implement an environmental reps initiative. This is great news. This is not a legal requirement for them, their customers aren't asking for it and it's not something their regulator would suggest.

What it is, is a benefit to their people and their business.

We know that when you get these things right, you can see improvements in the safety of your workforce and assets, an enhanced reputation, open doors to new market opportunities, competitive advantages, and ultimately cost savings.
